DELTRI+ virucidal filters by Pacific Ventilation
DELTRI+ virucidal filters for air handling units contain an advanced plasma technology capable of neutralising or destroying 99% of all viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. The treated filter surface activates on contact with the droplets that carry viruses. After the contact time, viruses are inactivated and no longer infectious.
High-quality face masks and surgical gowns already utilise similar virucidal filtration technology. DELTRI+ brings that same safety concept to the HVAC sector by making it suitable for much larger surfaces and longer usage times.
How the filters were tested…
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and an independent laboratory in France have tested the reliability of the virucidal effect in three different ways.
- LIST did the following: The institute performed a Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) on filtration materials and devices designed to protect against biological aerosols, such as face masks, surgical gowns and air filters. As a result, DELTRI+ has achieved a BFE of 99,8%.
- LIST tested the filter material’s Viral Load Reduction (VLR) following multiple standards. According to ISO10705, adapted to account for an equivalent Coronavirus strain (MS2), the tests show a VLR of 99,21% after 12 months.
- A French independent laboratory tested according to EN18184; test results prove a VLR of 99,999% after 1 hour. The tests confirmed the filters’ effectivity following standard test requirements. A third test conducted by the same independent laboratory ensures conformity with EN14476.

Customers can choose from many DELTRI+ filter types, including ISO16890 ePM1 90% rated air filters (comparable to EN 779’s F9 class) and all standard AHU filter sizes and special formats for compact units.
The air filters are available as follows:
- An optional order item for all newly shipped AHUs
- Replacement filters in standard and special sizes for existing AHUs – independent from their brand
- A filter option, selectable in our AHU configurators (coming soon!).
Where to use DELTRI+
DELTRI+ is a bag filter with advanced plasma technology that neutralises and destroys viruses. It is not a HEPA filter. DELTRI+ cannot simply replace HEPA filters or be put into an AHU unless it is suitable for this. Compared to a DELTRI+ bag filter, a typical HEPA filter has:
- A higher pressure drop and thus energy consumption
- Different frame and leakage class
- A higher price
- No plasma virus neutralisation feature
We recommend DELTRI+ in the following cases:
- Utilise DELTRI+ to replace your current AHU extract air filters.
- It is not necessary to replace your supply air filters with DELTRI+. There is a very limited chance that the outside air is polluted by viruses.
- You could also add DELTRI+ filters to your final filter section if you consider it suitable for your type of application. For example, instead of a standard ePM1 90% filter (F9 class comparable).
